SAN DIEGO, Calif. – UC Irvine was edged by San Diego State, 4-3 Saturday at the Aztec Tennis Center.

The Anteaters fall to 0-2 on the young season, while the Aztecs go to 2-1.

ABOUT THE MATCH
UCI started with a 1-0 lead, picking up wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.

The duo of Bajpal and Bruce Man Son Hing beat Jan Kirchhoff and Ignacio Martinez, 6-3 before Mason Hansen and Daniel Gealer took down Arnaud Restifo and Fabian Roensdorf, 6-3 at the No. 3 spot.

UCI fell behind, dropping No. 5, No. 6 and No. 3 singles before picking up a straight-set victory at No. 4 by Mason Hansen over Arnaud Restifo, 6-3, 6-3.

The Aztecs would clinch the match with a win No.1, before UCI's Sasha Krasnov topped Ignacio Martinez 6-7, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 to end the match. Krasnov improves to 2-0 on the year.
