Box Score IRVINE, Calif. – The UC Irvine men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Utah State Sunday at Anteater Tennis Stadium.

Sasha Krasnov and Aaron Bailey both won their singles matches to lead the Anteaters. Krasnov battled it out to defeat Sergiu Bucur 6-0, 6-4 at the No. 2 spot while Bailey won 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 on court six.

On court one, Luis Lopez dropped a 1-6, 6-1, 4-6 decision to Issac Arevalo. Mateusz Smolicki fell at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-4 while Daniel Gealer dropped at the No. 4 spot 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

In doubles play, Mason Hansen and Daniel Gealer went the distance with Duro Opacic/Felipe Acosta and won, 6-1, at No. 3 but Utah State was able to clinch Nos. 1-2 to get the point.

UCI drops to 0-1 on the season while USU improves to 3-1.

The 'Eaters will look to rebound Friday, Feb. 1 against St. Mary's at 1 p.m. at Anteater Tennis Stadium.
