IRVINE, Calif. – The 13
th-ranked UCI men's water polo team used a solid defensive effort to earn a 14-4 win over Concordia, Thursday night at Anteater Aquatics Complex.
With the win, the Anteaters improve to 5-4 on the season while the Eagles fall to 3-8 overall.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

Byron Rivers finished with 13 saves, two assists and a steal

TURNING POINTS
> The UCI defense shut-out CUI in the first quarter
> The Anteaters scored four-straight goals to take a 4-0 lead after the first eight minutes of play
> Trush and Nikocevic notched back-to-back goals to give UCI a 6-0 advantage with 4:01 left to play in the second quarter
> The Eagles got on the board with 3:00 showing on the clock in the second quarter to make it 6-1 at halftime
> The two teams exchanged back-and-forth goals in the third quarter before Jourdie scored with 20 seconds left in the frame to give UCI a six-point, 10-6, lead after the third quarter
> The Anteaters held the Eagles scoreless in the fourth quarter and tallied four more goals to earn the 10-point, 14-4, victory
> Evezard and Trush each had one goal in the final frame
