Miles Kalbus Nets Career-High in Win Over La Verne

LA JOLLA, Calif. – Senior Miles Kalbus had a career-high five goals as No. 9 UCI earned a decisive 22-5 victory over La Verne on the first day of the Triton Invitational, Saturday afternoon.
 
With the win, UCI improves to 2-0 on the season. La Verne falls to 0-2.

> Miles Kalbus' five goals led all players and was also a single-game career-best
> Jason Evezard finished with another four-goal performance, his second of the day
> Michael Swieca tallied a hat trick with three goals

> Jason Evezard notched back-to-back goals to open the second quarter giving UCI an 8-1 lead with 5:45 to play.
> La Verne's Ortega answered to make it 7-2 with 4:43 left in the half.
> Daniel Norman had two goals late in the second quarter to make it 10-3 at halftime.
> The Anteaters outscored the Leopards 12-2 in the second half to earn their second win of the season.
> Swieca tallied two goals in the third quarter and one in the fourth.
