‘Eaters Fall 1-0 in Exhibition to UCLA

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --- UC Irvine's final exhibition match finished 1-0 in favor of UCLA Sunday night in the first men's soccer match at Wallis Annenberg Stadium.
The two sides played to a scoreless draw in the first half. The Bruins, who are receiving votes in the preseason rankings, broke the tie in the 71st minute on an unassisted goal to sink the Anteaters.
The 'Eaters had the shot advantage, 6-3, in the first half, and finished with just three corner kicks to on UCLA's 10.
UCI went 1-1 in its exhibition matches to begin the 2018 season, it's first exhibition loss after going unbeaten in the team's last five.
The season starts up next week with a Friday night match at San Diego for a 7:00 p.m. start time
