IRVINE, Calif. - The UC Irvine men's track & field team kicked off its final home meet of the season Friday with five individuals competing on the first day of the Steve Scott Invitational at Anteater Stadium.
 
Freshman Seth Enochs had a fourth-place showing in the long jump with a leap of 23-10.75, while senior Jon Dickinson took seventh in the hammer throw (171-00).
 
On the track, junior Jon Rodriguez shaved over 11 seconds off his season best in the steeplechase where he was the top collegiate finisher and fourth overall (9:28.64).
 
Senior Izzak Mireles also clocked in at 14:44.20 to place seventh out of 40 in the 5000m. Freshman Ravi Sharma made a late push in the second section of the 5K, passing four runners on the final lap to come in 27th with a season-best 15:24.92.
 
UCI returns to Anteater Stadium on Saturday with action getting underway at 12 p.m. (4x100 relay).
