IRVINE, Calif. - With the outdoor track & field season set to begin on Saturday, we'll be getting to know a few members of the 2018 team, and up next is sophomore
Brianna Villanueva.
Â
As a true freshman last year, Villanueva qualified for the Big West Championships in the discus with a lifetime-best 146-07, which ranks 10th in school history. The Atascadero, Calif., native is also coming off an impressive indoor campaign where she moved up to No. 4 on UCI's all-time charts in the weight throw with a personal-record 49-03.5.
Â
1. Sing!
I am a terrible singer, but I love music so I sing anyway!
Â
2. Keeping the Beat
I've known how to play African Drums since I was in the 5th grade. I've played the Djembe, Bongos, Congas, and the African Talking Drum.Â
Â
3. Neat Freak
I make my bed every morning and clean my room at least three times a week. I'm a bit of a neat freak.Â
Â
4. America's Pastime
My favorite professional sport to watch is baseball. I've grown up around the sport and my family loves the San Francisco Giants; except for my uncle, he is a Dodger fan, so you could say there is a little rivalry in the family!Â
Â
5. Concert-Goer
I love going to concerts. I've seen various country music artists, hip-hop artists, and rock bands. One of the most memorable concerts was getting to see Def Leppard.Â
