SEATTLE, Wash. - The UC Irvine women's indoor track & field team had 10 athletes in action on the first day of the MPSF Championships Friday at the University of Washington's Dempsey Indoor.

Senior
Persis William-Mensah led four 'Eaters in the 60m prelims as she finished 10th out of 54 competitors. She clocked in at 7.49 seconds, just .04 behind Oregon's Arianna Washington. Junior
Hope Bushnell was also 22nd (7.64), and junior
Mychal Robinson was 47th with a season-best 7.99.

William-Mensah (24.76) and Bushnell (24.85) were the Anteaters' top-two finishers in the 200m as well, coming in 18th and 23rd, respectively. Freshman
Mikayla Scott took 47th (25.48), and junior
Brandy Coward (25.53) was 49th in her season debut.

Robinson added a top-20 performance in the 60m hurdles, placing 16th with a time of 8.77 seconds.

Barbara Coward was second in her flight and 15th overall in the weight throw with a toss of 52-08.25. Sophomore
Brianna Villanueva also had a 25th-place showing (46-04.75).

UC Irvine is back in action at Dempsey Indoor tomorrow for the second and final day of the MPSF Championships. Action gets underway at 10:30 a.m.
