LIHU'E, Kaua'i - The UC Irvine men's golf team wrapped up action at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate in 14th place Saturday at Wailua Golf Course.
The 'Eaters shot a 295 in the third round and finished with a total score of 878, which was just one stroke back of New Mexico and three behind Fresno State. No. 4 Texas A&M ran away with the team title at 29-under 835.

David Kim carded an even-par 72 for his fifth top-30 finish of the 2017-18 campaign. After sitting in 94th at the conclusion of the first round, Kim made a drastic improvement over the next 36 holes as he jumped 68 spots to come in 26th with a 216 (78-66-72). He had his best performance in Friday's second round where he notched his first collegiate hole-in-one and a season-low 6-under 66.

Ryan O'Connor tied for 37th, shooting a 3-over 75 to finish with a season-best 54-hole score of 218 (71-72-75). Junior
Ramiz Jamal also recorded a 2-over 74 on the final day to tie for 59th at 221 (74-73-74).

Jonathan Young saved his best round for Saturday, firing a 74 (+2) to climb nine spots in the standings. Young finished 93rd with a 229 (75-80-74). Junior
Jefferson Kao, who was making his season debut, rounded out the Anteater contingent in 104th (231).
The Aggies' Chandler Phillips was individual medalist, edging Blake McShea of UNCW by three strokes at 203 (-13).
UC Irvine returns to action in two weeks when it travels to Northern California for the Sacramento State Invitational, March 5-6.
