OPENING WEEKEND
The Anteaters fared well in their opening trip to the East Coast, winning four out of five matches played.  The final two scheduled matches against Marist and Fairfield were canceled due to rain.  This trip marked the first time UCI participated in fall dual-match play, as well as the first time UCI played any of the five East Coast schools.

MORE NEW COMPETITION
UC Irvine has only played Lafayette in the past, beating them 5-2 last season.  This weekend will be the first time the 'Eaters play Bryant, Providence, Rider and New Haven.

NEW FALL DUAL-MATCH PLAY
This is the first time in program history the Anteaters are playing countable dual-matches in the fall. UCI will play a total of ten regular-season dual matches in the fall over two weekends (Oct. 5-7, Oct. 19-21) with a split-squad format. In years prior, the team would compete in preseason tune-up tournaments.

UP NEXT
UC Irvine concludes fall season play when they host Cal State Los Angeles in an exhibition match on Nov. 2 at the Anteater Tennis Complex.
