Five Things to Know About: Ryan O'Connor

IRVINE, Calif. - With the 2018 portion of the men's golf schedule set to get underway next week, we'll be getting to know a few members of the squad, starting with senior Ryan O'Connor (Woodbridge HS).

O'Connor played in three of the Anteaters' four fall tournaments, finishing second on the team with a 74.78 stroke average. The Irvine native has two career top-10 finishes.

1. The Masters
I was lucky enough to go to The Masters, arguably the most well-known golf tournament in the world, in 2011 with my dad. It is still to this day the coolest thing I've ever been so lucky to experience. This was the spark of inspiration that ultimately led to my love and passion for golf today.

2. Summer Internship
Over this past summer, I worked for Sunwest Bank as a CRE Analyst Intern. This experience has inspired me to work harder and has helped me decide that I want to pursue Commercial Real Estate Investing as a career.

3. Long Hair, Don't Care
I had long hair since fourth grade, but recently chopped the mop off. Let me tell you, life is much easier with short hair.

4. Jackson
My black lab Jackson (3), is the most human-like dog that you'll ever see. He is the best dog, even though he goes through the trash sometimes.

5. Surf's Up
I recently started surfing over the summer; it's a lot of fun and also a good workout!
