La Jolla, Calif. – No. 13 UC Irvine had 11 different players score in a 20-1 season-opening victory over Fresno Pacific at the Triton Invitational at the Canyonview Pool.
The Anteaters put away the Sunbirds early, jumping out to a 7-1 lead after the first period. UCI would hold FPU scoreless the rest of the way.
Senior
Lovre Milos had a team-high four goals, scoring two in the first quarter and two in the second. Freshmen
Jack Baumgardner and
Fynn Schuetze got their UCI careers off to a good start, putting away three goals, each. Transfer
Robby Stiefel also made his Anteater debut and recorded two goals, the first two of the game. Another newcomer
Casey Lynton also scored in his first UCI game.

Matej Matijevic started the game in goal and recorded four saves then was followed by redshirt junior

The Anteaters return to action at 2:40 p.m. against No. 6 UC Santa Barbara at the Triton Pool.
