Anteaters Start The Season Atop The Leaderboard Of Ram Classic

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – UC Irvine started the 2017-18 season at the top of the leaderboard on the first day of the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic held at the Ptarmigan Country Club Sunday.
The Anteaters shot a first round of 285 and sit two strokes ahead of Indiana (287) and four ahead of San Francisco (289).
Avery French posted a career-low 67 and leads the field individually. Her 67 is the second lowest round by an Anteater, one off the school record of 66 recorded by Jane Chin (2008) and Patty Chawalitmetha (2007).
Kaley In is tied for fifth with a two-under par 70, while Breanne Jones is tied for 16th at 73. Janet Yeo shot a 75 on the first 18 holes and is tied for 44th.
Newcomer Danielle Lee is tied for 81st with a score of 84 and Sabrina Li is tied for 70th playing as an individual with a score of 79.
The tournament continues with 18 holes Monday and 18 Tuesday.
