Daytona Beach, FL -- The UC Irvine women's golf team battled afternoon winds on the second round of the NCAA Championship at the LPGA International Golf Course and are currently tied for 16th place.
The Anteaters, who are tied with Michigan State, shot a 314 on the second day, dropping from seventh to 16th place with a total of 614. Duke, the only team to shoot under par on the day (287), leads the field with an 11-over 587.
Junior Selanee Henderson is in 14th place with a two round total of 149 (69-80) while freshman Patty Chawalitmetha is 63rd carding a 155 (76-79). Junior Kim Lorenzana, who led UCI with a second round 77, is 74th with a score of 156 (79-77). Junior Jane Chin is 103rd with a 36-hole total of 161 (83-78) and freshman Henna Cho is 111th at 163 (79-84).
UC Irvine continues the championship with 18 holes Thursday beginning at 6:00 a.m.PDT.
