UC IRVINE FINISHES 19TH AT THE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP

Daytona Beach, Calif. -- The UC Irvine women's golf team finished 19th at the NCAA Championship that concluded Friday at the LPGA International Golf Course.

The Anteaters shot a final round of 308 and ended the tournament with a 72 hole total of 1,241 (303-314-316-308) for 19th place. Duke won the title with a score of 1,170, 15 shots ahead of second place Purdue.

Junior Selanee Henderson led UCI with a 40th place finish, carding a 304 (69-80-76-79) over 72 holes. Freshman Patty Chawalitmetha was 69th at 310 (76-79-80-75), junior Kim Lorenzana was 72nd with a four-day total of (79- 77-81-74), junior Jane Chin placed 106th with a score of 323 (83-78-79-83) and freshman Henna Cho was 117th with a (79-84-86-80) total.
