
Anteaters Remain in Sixth at Big West Tournament

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. --- UC Irvine remained in sixth place following the second round of the Big West Conference Championship at Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara.
The Anteaters shot 289 Tuesday and have a 36-hole total of 581. UC Santa Barbara leads the field at 561, Cal Poly is second at 567, and CSUN and Long Beach State are tied for third at 569.
UCI senior Bryan Shin shot an even-par 72 for the second straight day and is in 15th place at 144.
Junior David Kim, who shot a 1-under 71 Tuesday, is 20th at 145, juniors Ryan O'Connor and Jonathan Young are tied for 25th at 146 after each shot 73 in the second round, and freshman Jonathan Kang is 38th at 152 after a 76.
Felix Mory of CSUN is the individual leader at 8-under 136 after his second straight round of 68.
The final round is scheduled for Wednesday beginning at 7:30 a.m. as UCI is paired with Long Beach State and Cal State Fullerton going off the first tee.
