IRVINE, Calif. – Middle blocker Scott Stadick was named VolleyballMag.com Freshman of the Year after a stellar debut season.
Stadick, who stands at 7-0, was also named to the VolleyballMag.com All-American second team, joining senior setter Michael Saeta with that honor.
Senior outside hitter Tamir Hershko was selected as a first-team All-American honoree, adding to his long list of accolades as an Anteater.
Senior outside hitter Thomas Hodges was named to the honorable mention team.
Stadick, the MPSF Freshman of the Year as well, averaged 1.19 blocks per set which was ranked fifth in the nation. He hit .421 this season, which was sixth best in the country and averaged 1.89 kills per set.
"I had a fantastic time this season," Stadick said in a VolleyballMag.com article. "We had a great season and I enjoyed this team. Coming in as a new freshman, you never know what to expect. This team is great, the staff is great, we made a pretty great run."
