Riverside, Calif. – Junior Breanne Jones and sophomore Janet Yeo are in the top 10 individually to lead UC Irvine on the first day of the Big West Championships at the Oak Quarry Golf Club.
Jones is tied for sixth place after the first 18 holes with an even par 72, while Yeo is tied for 10th at 73.
Junior Kaley In is tied for 16th at 75, graduate student Avery French is 36th with a score of 82 and freshman Sabrina Li is tied for 37th at 83.
As a team, UCI is tied for fourth place with Cal State Fullerton with a first round 302. Cal Poly leads the eight team field with a one-over par 289. UC Riverside is second (296) and UC Davis is third (297) ahead of the Anteaters.
UCI will play the second round tomorrow (Apr. 24) beginning with the first tee time at 8:15 a.m. then conclude the tournament on Tuesday.
