THIS WEEK
No. 5 UCI will open up Big West play Friday (Mar. 10) against No. 8 Hawaii at 7:00 p.m. at the Anteater Aquatics Center.
This will be the third time this season the two teams have tangled. Hawaii edged UCI 9-8 at the Stanford Invitational then UCI topped Hawaii 9-8 at the Barbara Kalbus Invitational.
HIGH FIVE
UCI moved up to No. 5 in the national rankings this week. The Anteaters were also fifth in 2016 and the final poll of 2015.
MITCHELL NAMED BIG WEST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
McKenna Mitchell earned her second Big West Player of the Week honor after recording 11 goals last weekend.
She led the Anteaters in an 11-10 victory over host No. 7 Michigan, matching her season-high with 4 goals. After the Wolverines had built an 8-4 lead, Mitchell had an assist on a goal then took over the game scoring the next three goals, the last with 42 seconds remaining in the third quarter to narrow the gap to 9-8 heading in to the final quarter. The senior also had four goals in a win over Bucknell, scoring a goal in every quarter against the Bison.
Following last weekend's action, Mitchell moved in to sixth all-time in UCI scoring with 168 career goals.

Seniors Kelsey Thornton and McKenna Mitchell have scored in six straight games entering the week. Mitchell scored in six consecutive earlier this season as well. Junior Mary Brooks scored in each of the first nine games, the team's longest streak of the year.
LOOKING AHEAD
UCI will travel to San Diego State on Mar. 16 at 4:00 p.m., the final game of March. The Anteaters will have time off for final examinations and then return to action Apr. 1 at CSUN.
