FRESNO, Calif. – UC Irvine leads the Fresno Classic after the first two rounds at the San Joaquin Country Club.
The Anteaters shot a 299 on the first round then went two strokes lower with a 297 to top the leaderboard after the first 36 holes with a total of 596. The second round score of 297 is the third lowest of the season. Big West schools lead the pack as UCI sits two shots ahead of Cal Poly (598) and four ahead of UC Riverside (600).
The Anteaters are led by Janet Yeo, who is in third place with an even par 144 (73-71), and Breanne Jones is in fifth with a two-over par 146 (71-75). The duo's round of 71 is a season-low for each player.
Kaley In rebounded from a first round of 80 to shoot a 74 on the second round and is tied for 28th with teammate Sabrina Li (77-77) at 154. Avery French shot two rounds of 78 and is tied for 42nd.
The tournament concludes with 18 holes Tuesday beginning at 8:30 a.m.
