IRVINE, Calif. – Senior Tamir Hershko grabbed his second honor of the week, taking home Sports Imports/AVCA Division I-II National Player of the Week accolades.
Hershko averaged 4.20 kills per set, 4.75 points, 0.70 digs and 0.50 blocks per set in a pair of victories over UCLA and UC Santa Barbara last week.
The outside hitter posted a season-high 23 kills in the 3-2 win over the Bruins then had a team-high 19 against the Gauchos.
This is Hershko's second AVCA weekly honor and the 28th in program history. The outside hitter also won the award on January 13, 2015.
The sixth-ranked Anteaters will travel to No. 2 Long Beach State Wednesday (Mar. 1) for a 7:00 p.m. match at the Walter Pyramid.
