Janet Yeo Named Big West Golfer Of The Month

IRVINE, Calif. -- Junior Janet Yeo earned Big West Women's Golfer of the Month honors for October after winning her first career individual title.
Yeo was co-medalist at the Chip-N Club Invitational at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Course in Nebraska. She matched Nebraska's Audrey Judd for the title with a three-round total of two-over 218 (73-71-74). Yeo was the first Anteater medalist since Hillary Packard at the Lady Aztec Invitational on Feb. 17, 2009. Yeo led the tournament field with 14 birdies.
It was her first career individual title as she helped UCI to a third-place finish in the eight-team field.
Yeo helped UCI place second among 14 teams at the Pat Lesser-Harbottle Invitational in Tacoma, Wash. At the 6,086-yard, par-72 Tacoma Country and Golf Club, she tied for 16th overall with a score of 231 (78-76-77).
She concluded the month with a 21st-place tie in the UC Irvine Invitational. Her best round was 73 as she ended up shooting a three-round total of 225.
At the end of the fall schedule, Yeo leads the Anteaters with a 74.75 scoring average.
This is Yeo's first Big West monthly honor and the first for a UCI player since Luciane Lee garnered the recognition in March 2013.
