Anteaters in 10th Place After Second Round in Stockton

STOCKTON, Calif. -
The UC Irvine men's golf team rose two spots into a tie for 10th after the second round of the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational Friday at The Reserve at Spanos Park.
 
UCI finished the afternoon with a 289 for a 36-hole total of 577. The Anteaters are two strokes behind Saint Mary's and Pacific, while Santa Clara leads the 20-team field at 562.
 
Senior David Kim made the biggest move in the individual standings for the 'Eaters, as he carded a 4-under 68 to jump 25 spots into the top-10. Kim, who had five birdies on the day, shot below a 70 for the third time this season. He will enter tomorrow's final round in a tie for 10th (140).
 
Junior Ramiz Jamal dropped to 30th after posting a 75 (+3) in the second round. Jamal was coming off his best 18-hole performance of his career with a 3-under 69 on Thursday.
 
Sophomore Jonathan Kang notched an even-par 72 to move up to 49th (146), while senior Ryan O'Connor is 64th with identical rounds of 2-over 74.
 
Senior Jonathan Young currently rounds out the Anteater contingent in 79th as he owns a two-round score of 150 (73-77).
 
UC Irvine returns to The Reserve at Spanos Park on Saturday, Oct. 28, for the third and final round of the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational.
