Draws // UC Irvine Results

MALIBU, Calif. - Two Anteaters closed out the team's stay at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships Saturday at Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.
 
Senior Sebastian Heim and junior Luis Lopez were the only 'Eaters in action on the third day in Malibu as they were pitted against Arizona State's top-seeded duo of Benjamin Hannestad and Tim Ruehl in the quarterfinals of the doubles main draw. Heim and Lopez put up a fight but could not pull off the upset in an 8-4 loss.
 
Heim and Lopez reached the quarterfinal round by previously defeating Loyola Marymount's Lukas Moenter/Lucas Moreno, 8-3, and Felix Albert/Fabian Woehrl of Hawai'i, 8-2.
 
UC Irvine now has several months to prepare for the dual-match season which starts at San Diego on Jan. 19.
