SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Kaley In and Camille Wagg finished in a tie for 11th to lead UC Irvine to a fifth place finish at the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational held at the Almaden Country Club.
The Anteaters placed fifth with a 54-hole total of 905 (299-303-303), the second straight tournament UCI has placed in the top 5, following a second place showing at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic. BYU won the team title with a score of 882, holding off host San Jose State (885). Colorado was third (893) and Nevada was fourth (904), one stroke ahead of UCI. BYU's Kendra Dalton earned medalist honors with a score of 212.
In (76-75-73) and Wagg (76-74-74) tied for 11th with a three round score of 224. Samantha Chan (71-82-79), who had a team low 71 on the first round, and Breanne Jones (76-76-80) were tied for 29th at 232. Avery French ended in a tie for 50th with a two-day score of 237 (82-78-77).
Next, the Anteaters will travel to the NMSU Aggie Invitational Oct. 3-5 at the NMSU Golf Course.
