San Jose, Calif. – UC Irvine is tied for fourth after the first day of the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational held at the Almaden Country Club.
The Anteaters shot a two-round total of 602 (299-303) and is tied for fourth with Santa Clara. BYU leads the field with a score of 590 (294-296) followed by host San Jose State and Colorado at 592.
Junior Camille Wagg leads UCI with a 36-hole total of 150 (76-74) and is tied for 14th place. Junior Kaley In is tied for 20th at 151 (76-74) followed by junior Breanne Jones who is tied for 25th at 152 (76-76) and senior Samantha Chan who is tied for 29th at 153 (71-82). Graduate student Avery French is tied for 50th with a two-round total of 160 (82-78).
UCI concludes the tournament tomorrow with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start. The Anteaters will play with Santa Clara and Colorado State on the final round.
