SALT LAKE CITY, Calif. --- UC Irvine's offensive roll ended Sunday against Utah falling 1-0 at Ute Soccer Field.
Utah (5-2-1) scored the match's lone goal in the 51st minute. A service into the box was cleared by an Anteater defender, but Tavia Leachman flicked it over to Hailey Skolmoski who tapped the goal home for the 1-0 lead.
The Anteaters (8-2) pressured throughout earning a majority of the shots with 11 including five on target. Ute keeper Carly Nelson stopped all five while Maddie Newsom made three saves in net, but Utah took the victory, 1-0.
The loss snaps UCI's second four-match win streak of the season with both of UCI's losses coming as one-goal defeats on the road.
