Hayward Field – Eugene, Oregon
UC Irvine junior Lloyd Sicard competes in the semifinals of the 110-meter hurdles Wednesday at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore.
The hurdles competition is scheduled to begin at 5:32 p.m. at Hayward Field. Sicard is in Heat 3, Lane 4 for his semifinal race. ESPN3 will have coverage throughout the meet and ESPN2 is scheduled to air the events beginning at 5:30 p.m. (PT) Wednesday.
The top two in each semifinal heat, plus the next two fastest, will advance to Friday's final at 6:12 p.m. that is scheduled to be televised on ESPN.
Sicard qualified with a time of 13.61 seconds at the NCAA West Preliminary Round in Lawrence, Kan., May 28. That time won his heat and was third overall in the West. It was just shy of his school-record time of 13.60 that he ran a year ago at the West Prelims.
The two-time Big West Conference champion in the 110 hurdles was named the league's co-Athlete of the Year in men's track this season.
This is Sicard's second consecutive trip to the NCAA Championships in Eugene. He placed sixth in his semifinal heat last year.
