LONG BEACH, Calif. --- Junior Matt Seawright accounted for all of UC Irvine's points Friday in the Big West Conference Track & Field Championships at Jack Rose Track in Long Beach.

He garnered five points with a fourth-place finish of 203-2 in the hammer throw for the No. 3 mark in Anteater history.

Seawright added three team points in the shot put, placing sixth at 52-7 ½.  Freshman Branden Randall just missed scoring points in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as he finished ninth with a career-best time of 9:26.23.

Advancing to Saturday's finals on the track included Lloyd Sicard and Oliver Pham in the 110-meter hurdles.  Sicard had a qualifying time of 14.08 Friday to lead everyone in the prelims and Pham ran 14.77.

A pair of Anteaters also advanced in the 400-meter hurdles as Cameron Vaca had the third-fastest qualifying time of 52.14 and Brandon Howard moved on with a time of 52.51.

Duane Solomon qualified for Saturday's final in the 100 meters with a prelim time of 10.72, Isaiah Jewett advanced in the 400 meters at 48.15 and Isaiah Thompson in the 800 meters after running 1:52.06 Friday.

UCI is tied for seventh place with eight points as Cal Poly leads with 65.
 
Action starts in the field Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with the first running event at 2:08 p.m.  Fox Sports Prime Ticket will televise the action from 2:00-6:00 p.m.
