IRVINE, Calif. --- UC Irvine junior Lloyd Sicard has earned the Big West Conference Track Athlete of the Week award following his record-setting performance at last Friday's Big West Challenge.
Sicard broke his own meet record in winning the 110-meter hurdles at the 24th annual event with a time of 13.84 seconds to eclipse his previous mark of 13.92 set last year.
That time of 13.84 currently leads the Big West, is eighth in the West Region and 20th nationally.
He ran the first leg of UCI's 4x100 relay that registered a time of 41.11 at the Big West Challenge.
Sicard, the 2014 Big West Freshman of the Year, won the Big West's weekly honor three times last season.
He holds the Anteater record of 13.60 in the 110 hurdles that he set last May in the NCAA West Preliminary Round.
UCI competes in the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific Thursday and Friday, and the Beach Invitational at Long Beach State Friday and Saturday.
