IRVINE, Calif. --- After missing out on a match last week from rain, the Anteaters were back on the court Friday afternoon at Anteater Tennis Stadium, however, visiting UNLV dropped the hammer with a 6-1 defeat of UC Irvine.

Doubles were split through two sets before the Rebels (4-0) decided it on court 1 with a 6-3 victory over Sarah Gong and Mazy Watrous.

That duo slipped early in singles as well to drop UC Irvine (1-3) down 3-0. Anna Bogoslavets earned the clincher for UNLV in straight sets over Stephanie Hazell at No. 4 singles.

Vivien Dvali and Andrea Duva each went to a third set, but dropped the tiebreaker. Cassidy Branstine scored the 'Eaters' sole point on the afternoon with a third-set tiebreak winner of her own for the final tally of 6-1.

The loss drops the Anteaters to three straight losses. Hope lies in Saturday, Feb. 6, as UCI returns for another chance at a win at 11:00 a.m. as they host Sacramento State.
