Seal Beach, Calif. – UC Irvine finished in 15th place at The Gold Rush which concluded Tuesday at the Old Ranch Country Club.
The Anteaters had a 54-hole total of 950 (316, 311, 323) in the first tournament of the spring season. No. 1 ranked USC won the team title with a score of 865 (286-285-294). The Trojans occupied the top three individual spots, including the medalist Robynn Ree who carded a 212 (70-71-71).
Samantha Chan had a team-low round of 75 on the final 18 holes Tuesday and led the Anteaters with a three-round score of 234 (83-76-75), good for 53rd place. Camille Wagg was tied for 55th position with a score of 236 (80-76-80) and Breanne Jones was 67th at 242 (82-79-81). Kristin Henno finished in a tie for 71st place with a 244 (77-80-87) and Kelsey Kawaguchi, who did not finish the final round, had a two round score of 159 (77-82).
UCI will compete in the Bruin Wave next Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 29-March 1) at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.
