IRVINE, Calif. -- Senior Shereen Sutherland has been named Buffalo Wild Wings Anteater of the Week after averaging 19.0 points and 10.5 boards over two games last week.
The forward helped UCI to a win over Nevada with 18 points and nine rebounds then notched her second career double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds at Portland State.
She leads UCI overall with 11.9 points and 8.9 rebounds per contest. The senior has reached double digit scoring four times, while adding two games with 10-plus rebounds. Sutherland has pulled down at least eight boards in seven of the team's eight games this year, including a career-high 15 at Utah State.
UCI starts a seven-game homestand, taking on Sacramento State Saturday (Dec. 10) at 2:00 p.m. then UNLV Monday (Dec. 12) at 5:00 p.m. Both games are at the Bren Events Center.
