Keston Hiura Named Preseason All-American by Collegiate Baseball

IRVINE, Calif. --- The Anteater junior earned second team honors on the Preseason All-American list concocted by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper on Monday.

The honor is the first heading into 2017 for the outfielder. He was named a Preseason All-American by D1Baseball, Perfect Game USA, and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association prior to this 2016 campaign donning a first, second, and third team honor from those publications.

Hiura followed up his stellar freshman season that earned Freshman All-American praise with an equally-impressive sophomore season upping his average 28 points to .358 while keeping pace with seven more home runs and 41 RBI.

The recognition comes on the heels of Hiura being listed as the No. 37 MLB Draft Prospect on the MLB Pipeline's top 100 list for 2017. He was also named to D1Baseball.com's top 100 along joined by Cameron Bishop as the only pair of Big West teammates to make their grade.

The junior outfielder is among five Big West players named to CBN's list, and his crew of Anteaters begin 2017 in February at Anteater Ballpark against Big Ten champion Minnesota.
