IRVINE, Calif. --- The NSCAA released its all-region squads Thursday equipped with three Anteaters on the list in senior Kelsey Texeira and juniors Noel Baham and Kiana Palacios.
The three honorees are the most for the program since the 2010 and 2011 squads that each had four named. UC Irvine was one of five schools to have multiple players included as the Big West locked up over a third (13 of 33) of the West Region slots.
Palacios scored second team status despite missing the final six matches of the season for the 'Eaters that included its run through the Big West Tournament. She still finished tops on the squad in goals, game-winners, and points, and led the nation in each at one point in the regular season.
Texeira joins her on the second team with a monster senior campaign busting out for four goals, three game-winners, three assists, and 11 points as a defender saving all her points for her senior season.
Baham punctuated the list as a third-teamer with her Big West-leading eight assists to go with six goals and three game-winners, the first goals of her career.
All three are making their first appearances on the squad as they mark UCI's first honoree since Cami Privett in 2014. The 'Eaters returned to their standard of excellence winning 13 matches on the season and reaching its fifth Big West final in a year where the team led the conference in scoring and kept pace with the defensive leaders as well.
