'Eaters Take Part in Run/Roll Exhibition

IRVINE, Calif. – Over the weekend, sophomore Mason Hansen and freshman Bruce Man-Son-Hing of the UC Irvine men's tennis team participated in the Run/Roll Exhibition at the UNIQLO Wheelchair Doubles Masters in Mission Viejo.

On Friday, Nov. 4, Mason and Bruce teamed up with world No. 2 Gordon Reid and No. 3 Joachim Gerard for an exhibition match at the International Tennis Federation's flagship wheelchair tennis doubles event.

Reid was this year's Wimbledon champion and won two medals at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio as he took home gold in singles and silver in doubles. Gerard, meanwhile, was the 2015 singles Masters champion and a bronze medalist at the Rio Paralympics.

The UNIQLO Wheelchair Doubles Masters features the world's top eight men's pairs, top six women's pairs and top four quad pairs. The tournament was held at Marguerite Tennis Pavilion.

UC Irvine recently concluded its fall tournament slate and will open the 2017 campaign against Utah State on Jan. 14.
