UC Irvine Takes Fifth Place At Aggie Invitational

LAS CRUCES, NM – UC Irvine finished in fifth place at the New Mexico State Aggie Invitational which concluded Wednesday at the New Mexico State Golf Course.

The Anteaters shot a three-day total of 914 (293-314-307) for their third consecutive top 5 finish of the fall. Host New Mexico State won the tournament with a score of 894 (295-299-300). UTEP (896), South Dakota State (898) and Stephen F. Austin State (912) finished ahead of UCI.

Junior Camille Wagg led UCI from start to finish and ended in a tie for fifth, her best finish as an Anteater with a career-low 223 (70-77-76). Wagg, who started the tournament with a career-best round of 70, led the field on Par 5s with a 4.67 average (-4) and was tied for second in birdies with eight.

Kaley In had her third consecutive top 15 finish, coming in at 13th with a score of 229 (71-78-80). Breanne Jones was tied for 18th with a three round total of 232 (80-78-76). Avery French had the best final round with a three-over par 75 and placed 21st at 233 (80-78-75), while Samantha Chan was tied for 31st with a score of 238 (77-81-80). Sabrina Li ended her first collegiate tournament in 36th position at 241 (78-83-80).

UCI will conclude the fall season, traveling to Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown Oct. 23-25.
