Avery French Fires First Round 69 At Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown

Boulder City, Nev. – UC Irvine is tied for 16th place after the first day at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown at the Boulder Creek Golf Course.

The Anteaters shot a first round of 296 and are tied with Nevada in 16th position. Baylor fired a 15-under par 273 and leads the tournament field. Idaho is second (278) and San Diego State and host UNLV are tied for third (280).

Avery French was one of 14 players to shoot a round in the 60s Sunday, pacing UCI with a round of 3-under par 69 and is tied for 11th place. Kaley In and Breanne Jones are tied for 71st with a score of 75, while Camille Wagg shot a round of 77 and is tied for 91st and Samantha Chan is in 103rd place with a score of 79.

The tournament continues with 18 holes on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
