LOS ANGELES, Calif. --- UC Irvine ran into the nation's top-ranked and hottest team Saturday as the 13th-ranked Anteaters fell to No. 1 UCLA, 11-0, at Spieker Aquatics Center.
David Stiling and Matt Farmer scored two goals each for the Bruins, who improved to 16-0 in winning their 49th straight game.
UCLA built a 7-0 halftime lead, scored four more goals in the third quarter and both teams were scoreless in the final period.
UCI, which fell to 7-6 on the season, had 22 shot attempts in the game and junior goalie Matej Matijevic recorded nine saves.
The 'Eaters host USC next Sunday (Oct. 9) at 1:00 a.m. at the Anteater Aquatics Complex.
