Irvine, Calif. -- UC Irvine men's basketball player Alex Young has been named this week's Buffalo Wild Wings Anteater of the Week.

The senior guard from Phoenix, Ore. led with 17 points in UCI's 54-52 win over New Mexico State. With just over a minute left in the game, Young tipped in a missed shot to tie the game 52-52 before Mike Best shot the game winner with 19.3 seconds remaining. Young also had five rebounds, four steals and three assists in the 'Eaters' victory.

UCI opens Big West Conference play Thursday night hosting UC Davis at 7:30 p.m. (Prime Ticket) in the Bren Events Center.
