BY THE NUMBERS

40 – Gong recently won her 32nd career singles match tying her for 40th-most in program history

13 - In her three seasons she has gone 13-5 in Big West singles matches

116 - The senior's biggest triumph came over Marshall's Derya Terhun, ranked No. 116 in the nation

She's been a rising star ever since joining the program. Starting her career out at No. 4 singles, slowly working her way to No. 1, and now being looked at to lead the squad back to the postseason as a senior, Gong has evolved her game and actually been able to relax and manage her play.

It has pair off thus far in the 2015-16 campaign giving her six wins through the fall and dual match play. Her doubles play has stayed consistent with 12 wins in each of the last two seasons, primarily as the No. 2. She has begun the season at No. 1 doubles. and strives to lead many doubles point wins throughout the season.
