CHANDLER, Ariz. --- UC Irvine is in seventh place after Monday's first two rounds of the Wyoming Cowboy Classic at Whirlwind Golf Club (Cattail Course) in Chandler, Ariz.
The Anteaters shot 8-under par 568 for 36 holes Monday. UC Davis leads the 18-team field at 556 while McNeese State and Colorado are tied for second at 558.
UCI freshman David Kim is in fifth place after shooting 5-under 139 on rounds of 71-68.
Junior Jacob Schulze shot 4-under 140 (69-71) and is in 10th place while senior Pete Fernandez is 16th after shooting 3-under 141 (70-71).
Sophomore Bryan Shin is 70th at 148 (74-74) and freshman Jonathan Young is 82nd at 150 (76-74).
Colorado's David Oraee (68-68) and UC Davis' Mike Brockington (65-71) are the individual leaders at 8-under 136.
The final round is scheduled for Tuesday.
