SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. --- No. 74 UC Irvine responded from a slow start to score a 4-1 victory over Cal Poly Friday morning.

The Mustangs (3-13, 0-5) took advantage of some new Anteater doubles pairings with 8-2 and 8-3 doubles wins to secure the opening point and lead, 1-0.

UC Irvine (11-7, 4-1) returned the favor in singles taking the first four singles points capped off by a three-set clincher from Andrea Duva, 6-2, 2-6, 6-0, at No. 6 singles for the win.

UCI's Big West road trip rambles on up the coast with a meeting against No. 50 UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, Apr. 4, at 10:00 a.m.
