UC Irvine Passes First Round Test Against CSUF, 4-0

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. --- The Anteaters scored a 4-0 win over Cal State Fullerton to kick off the Big West Tournament Friday morning at Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

Andrea Duva and Arisha Ladhani broke the tie in doubles with an 8-5 set win at No. 3 doubles to claim the opening point and lead, 1-0.

CSUF (10-12, 2-6) took a pair of opening sets in singles at Nos. 1 and 3, but was unable to capitalize on it as the 'Eaters (15-8, 6-2) earned three straight-set singles wins for the three possible points clinched by Mazy Watrous.

UCI advances to the semifinal for the 14th consecutive season, and will square off with third-seeded UC Santa Barbara on Sat. Apr. 25 at 9:00 a.m.
