SANTA CRUZ, Calif. --- Darkness led to suspension of the second round in the 69th annual Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Course in Santa Cruz Saturday.
Six teams finished 36 holes with eight teams, including UC Irvine, still having players that need to finish their second rounds Sunday morning.
UCI is currently in 13th place at 52-over par. Stanford, which finished its second round, leads at 707 followed by Texas at 712.
UCI freshman David Kim is in 25th place at 5-over and shot 71 in the opening round. Jacob Schulze, who shot a first-round 77, is 44th at 9-over and Pete Fernandez, who also opened with a 77, is 54th at 10-over.
Jonathan Young (76) is in 60th place at 11-over, Bryan Shin (77) is 81st at 17-over and Johnny Hyun (81) is 92nd at 28-over.
Scottie Scheffler of Texas is the individual leader at 6-under par 134 (66-68).
Completion of the second round is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. with the final round beginning at 8:45 a.m.
