UCI Closes Out 2015 Home Schedule With Two Games

UCI will close out its 2015 home schedule hosting San Diego Christian on Saturday (Dec. 12) at 2:00 p.m. and Grand Canyon Monday (Dec. 14) at 7:00 p.m. Both contests are at the Bren Events Center.
This will be the first meeting between UCI and San Diego Christian.
The Hawks are 5-3 overall and are on a two-game losing streak, dropping a 53-52 decision to Biola the last time out.
UCI is 1-0 against Grand Canyon, topping the Antelopes 54-53 in Phoenix last year.
Grand Canyon is 4-6 overall and coming off two wins over Air Force and North Dakota State. The game against UCI is the last of an eight game road trip for the 'Lopes.
UCI's Raelyn Cheung-Sutton is ranked sixth in the nation in assists per game (7.3). She dished 12 assists against Nevada last week which tied her career. Her 12 assists is the most in the Big West this season and tied for eighth most in the country.
Cheung-Sutton leads the team in scoring at 9.1 per contest.
Mokun Fajemisin is second in the Big West in rebounding (9.1) and third in blocked shots (1.86). She is second on the team averaging 9.0 points per game.
UCI leads the league with 65.4 field goal attempts per game. They own their misses better than anyone else, averaging a league-best 14.1 offensive rebounds per outing.
The Anteaters are second in the Big West in three-point field goal percentage defense, holding opponents to a .256 mark.
Last week, UCI lost a 71-55 decision against Northern Arizona then beat Nevada, 68-64.
Fajemisin led UCI against Northern Arizona, scoring a team-high 16 points and grabbing seven rebounds.
Shereen Sutherland recorded her first career double-double, scoring a team and season-high 17 points and grabbing a career-high 12 rebounds in the win over Nevada.
Against the Wolf Pack, Cheung-Sutton and Irene Chavez totaled 12 points, while Paulina Santana had a career-best 10 points.
UCI had its best offensive outing of the season against Nevada, setting season-highs in points (68), field goal percentage (.444) and three point percentage (.500).
UCI also had a season low seven turnovers against Nevada.
Following the two home games, UCI takes to the road to close out the year starting at UCLA next Wednesday (Dec. 16). The Bruins are receiving votes in the national poll this week. The Anteaters will then travel to San Jose State on Sunday (Dec. 20), Sacramento State on Dec. 22 and USC on Dec. 28.
