TUCSON, Ariz. --- The Anteaters scored a season-opening win to kick off the 2015 season downing the Arizona Wildcats at LaNelle Robson Tennis Court.
Freshman Sebastian Heim got things going with a straight-set win, 6-1, 6-3, as the No. 3 in his UCI debut. Rafael Davidian and Jonathan Hammel followed suit with straight set victories.
Tyler Pham fought back to take the clinching point, 1-6, 6-4, 7-6, as the No. 2.
The win was UC Irvine's first to start the season since 2010, and it looks to build on it with a second match this afternoon with No. 41 Texas Tech.
