IRVINE, Calif. – A young team of Anteaters will gain valuable experience with a quality slate of tournaments during the 2014-15 season.

"I am excited about our schedule this year," head coach Julie Brooks said. "The fall will get us ready for a very challenging spring. The team is young, but they have an opportunity to play against some of the best teams in the country and learn from them."

UCI starts the year at the Rose City Collegiate Sept. 29-30 at the Langdon Farms Golf Course in Aurora, Ore. The Anteaters tied for second at the event last year.

For the first time, UCI will compete at the Betsy Rawls/Longhorn Invitational at the University of Texas Golf Club on Oct. 12-14. The Anteaters will then travel to the Rainbow Wahine Invitational at the Leiehua Golf Club on Oct. 21-23 to close out the Fall schedule.

The spring schedule starts at Black & Blue Rival Long Beach State's Gold Rush Invitational Feb. 9-10 at the Old Ranch Country Club followed by the Peg Barnard Invitational held at the Stanford Golf Course Feb. 14-15.

Once again, the highlight of the season is the UC Irvine Invitational Presented by Kia Feb. 23-24 at the Santa Ana Country Club. UCI will partner with Kia for the third consecutive year in offering a sponsor's exemption to the Kia Classic to the medalist, making the event one of the premier tournaments in the country. This year's tournament field includes USC, Gonzaga, Long Beach State, Texas Tech, SMU, Washington, Texas A&M, UNLV, San Diego State, Pepperdine and UC Davis. This is the strongest field in the event's history with nine of the teams advancing to NCAA Regionals last season, including three who competed at the NCAA Championships.

The Bay Area Intercollegiate at the Meadow Club on Mar. 9-10 will be followed by The Farms Invitational Mar. 23-25 at the Farms Golf Club to round out the regular season schedule.

UCI will compete at the Big West Championships on Apr. 19-21 at the El Macero Country Club.

UCI returns just two letterwinners, sophomores Kaley In and Samantha Chan in 2014-15.

In was named to the All-Big West second team after leading the team with a 76.00 scoring average over 22 rounds. In had two top 10 finishes, including leading UCI with a seventh place performance at the Big West Championships. Chan played in 18 rounds as a freshman.

Kristin Henno, a junior transfer from Portland State, will join the Anteaters this season to add some experience to the young squad. She earned Big Sky Conference Player of the Week as a freshman after finishing 10th at the WSU Cougar Cup. Henno also earned Academic All-Big Sky Conference and Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American scholar honors while a Viking.
