Irvine, Calif. -- Libero Michael Brinkley and middle blocker Scott Kevorken were named Volleyball Magazine first-team All-Americans.
Brinkley, who also garnered AVCA first team All-American honors, averaged 2.52 digs per game and owned a passing .971 receiving percentage. The junior recorded double-figure digs 13 times this season, including a season-high 18 in a three-set win over Long Beach State on Mar. 28. Brinkley, who is the only UCI player to play in every set this year, ranks second all-time in UCI digs.
Kevorken hit over .600 eight times this season, including a .875 performance against UC San Diego on April 4. He averaged 1.81 kills and 0.90 blocks per set overall. The senior ends his career ranked fifth in UCI career solo blocks and seventh in block assists and total blocks. Kevorken also earned second team AVCA All-America and first team All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation honors earlier this season.
