Irvine, Calif. -- Head coach Doug Oliver and assistant coaches Lauren Bowie and Michelle Augustavo accepted the #Chillin4Charity Cold Water Challenge on Monday to help raise money and awareness for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
The UC Irvine staff was called out by fellow coaches from Long Beach State, Idaho, San Jose State and Cal Poly to take the challenge. The staff issued some challenges of their own, calling out John Marguerites from UC Riverside, John Newlee from Idaho, Katie Abrahamson Henderson from Albany, Jourdan Willard from San Jose State, Selena Ho at Westmont and Lisa Faulkner from Boston College.
Once a coach is challenged on Twitter they have 48 hours to respond. Any head coach that does not answer the challenge owes the Kay Yow Foundation $250. For each head coach that does answer the challenge, the original challenger will owe $50. Assistant coaches that do not answer the challenge will owe the Kay Yow Foundation $100. For each assistant coach that answers the challenge, the challenger will owe the Kay Yow Foundation $25.
